Serengeti National Park

Serengeti National Park takes pride in being one of the most visited tourist destinations in Tanzania. Most visitors come to park to witness its annual migration event. Crowned as the best-known wildlife sanctuary in the world, Serengeti national Park gives the pinnacle wildlife experience.

The Serengeti National Park is the oldest park in Tanzania. It was declared a national park in 1951 and designated as a UNESCO world heritage site in 1981. It is situated in north-central Tanzania on the Serengeti Plains.

  • Covering an area of 5700 sq. miles, the park is hugely biologically diverse. The Park is home to at least four globally threatened or endangered animals namely black rhinoceros, wild dog, cheetah, and elephant.
  • Seronera River Valley is one of the important tourist attractions for sighting Leopards inside the park.  The vast valley is full of wild animals and you can easily spot elephants, zebras, wildebeests, gazelles, and giraffes.
  • The Naabi Hills situated in Eastern Serengeti is a great place to sight the majestic lions and a variety of other wildlife.
  • The Lobo Valley should be at top of the list while visiting Serengeti. All three big cats- lions, leopards, and cheetahs thrive here.  Millions of gazelles, wildebeest, and zebras migrate to this area in search of nutritious grasses.
